On a recent shopping trip, I happened to pass by a pet store, where a big monkey in a small cage outside the entrance broke my heart. I left the store with tears in his eyes, deeply saddened by what he saw. poor and homeless animals in tiny cages prisoners, not even enough space to turn around, her sad, pleading eyes followed me, struggling with the urge to release, certain that nobody would able to explain what crime they were imprisoned in such inhuman and unnatural habitat. I wondered if the store owner would have ever thought about whether she would like to be imprisoned in the same way he had captured birds and had put in small cages. Perhaps only a fellow animal lover could really understand what I felt that day. The importance of kindness to animals is something that every Muslim should understand as part of their lifestyle.
This is an important issue that one can earn Heaven or Hell because of their treatment towards animals . The mistreatment of animals is considered a major sin in Islam, as explained in the famous book "The major sins 'of Imam Muhammad ibn' Abdul Wahhab, may Allah give you His forgiveness. Indeed, a Muslim is responsible for its treatment towards animals because an abused animal will testify against someone who abused him on the Day of Judgement. Islam forbids branding animals warm to and killing them in vain, for sport. The Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, forbade people to capture birds, burn anthills and flagellar animals. Even when animals are slaughtered to eat, Islam requires the sacrifice is made in accordance with procedures established Islamic, which are humanitarian and reduce suffering. And representatives of Allah on earth, human beings have a responsibility towards every living creature.
Leaving the pet shop that day, I felt like a traitor, knowing that those animals have feelings as real as the humans. I was leaving the creatures, my fellow, in his state prison. Outside the shop, I stepped off the sidewalk to begin crossing the street when my foot was just a kitten tiny newborn, perfectly positioned for a truck ran over the parking lot. I stood there blocking the way to desperate drivers required for parking space, as he made hand signals to the worker of the pet store, I thought surely he was someone who cared and loved the animals . He went out, looked at the animal and said: "It's not ours," and went back to the store. I stood there for fifteen minutes until I could get something to boost the kitty to take him to safety. Tears streamed down my face and asked, "Where is la gente de la Sunnah? Although his name was' Abdur-Rahman, was known as' Abu Huraira '(the father of the kitten) because he had a small kitten which fed, cared for and carried with him wherever he went.
Cats in Islam:
The Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, taught Muslims to be merciful to all creation of Allah. There are many reports of his appreciation for cats which resulted in his historic acceptance among Muslims. The cats were very common among people at the time of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, and he said: "They (cats) are not impure and can be mixed with you. " The cats are so clean that, according to authentic narrations one may make the ablution for prayer with the same water that swallowed a cat. It is even known that some people today are opposed to the tradition of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, by evil practices of torture and poisoning the cats. Do they think that Allah will not punish them for that? Certainly the punishment of Allah for such acts is severe, if we consider the Hadith of the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, by Al Bukhari and Muslim concerning a woman who locked up a cat, refusing to feed and did not release him so he could feed itself. The Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, said she would be introduced as a punishment in Hell.
Dogs in Islam:
Unfortunately, today there is no more abused pet the dog. The Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, said: "The purification of a container that has been licked by a dog (to be used by humans) is done by washing it seven times, the first time should be washed with soil "[Muslim]. A Muslim should not keep a dog inside your house, because the Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, informed us that angels do not enter the house where a dog [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]. Does this mean that dogs should be neglected or abused? Certainly not. Just because you can not have the dog inside the house, does not mean to be neglected or abandoned, mistreated or killed. The utility of this creature of Allah is indisputable. No other animal can compete with him in his loyalty, his skills as a guardian and his talent as a hunter.
In fact, in the sura entitled 'The Cave', the Qur'an reveals the story of some youths who had faith and trust in Allah, who took refuge in a cave in the persecution and violence of the unbelievers of his day. That brought a virtuous people dog with them, and the fact that Allah mentions the dog and counts among them, indicates that dogs are permitted to live among people.
Allaah Says (what means in English): {You would have thought they were awake, but asleep. Volteábamos them to the right and left, and his dog was with the front legs extended in the entry} [Quran 18:18].
Thus, dogs can be used as guardians and as hunters, as the Quran says so, then Allaah Says (what means in English): {They ask you what is permissible [to eat]. Say: You have been allowed all beneficial. You can eat what you have trapped the animals of prey who have trained for hunting, as Allah has taught you. And mention the name of Allah [when they order to hunt bear], and fear Allah, Allah is swift at reckoning} [Quran 5:4].
In two separate accounts of Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, the Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, his companions spoke of the virtues of saving the life of a dog by giving it water and quenching its thirst. One of the stories about a man who was blessed by Allah for giving water to a thirsty dog, the other concerns a prostitute who filled his shoes with water and was given a dog that had his tongue hanging out of thirst. For this action she was honored with the ultimate reward: eternal Paradise, where rivers flow, to live there forever [Muslim].
Let us reflect on this and take care of our duties to the creatures of Allah, which He has put on earth for our use and not for our abuse. When asked the Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, if Allah reward acts of charity to animals , he sallallaahu' alayhi wa sallam, replied: "Yes, there is a reward for acts of charity towards all creatures alive. " We fear Allaah with regard to His creatures to not win his wrath. We must support and love the animals , knowing that Allah, Exalted is He, considers such actions performed in his cause as worthy of the reward of Paradise.
